System Capabilities
Size of an automated process control system can be as simple as one personal computer (PC) and one programmable logic control (PLC) controlling one unit of operation in a plant. Or, it may be a complex system of multiple PC's and PLC's networked together. In addition to automation of a process function, it can be tied into a company's overall CIM program.
A complete systems automation program
Promation, Inc. provides control automation systems in any degree to satisfy a client's specific requirements. It is truly a complete program offering these many services:
- Integrate individual functions into one complete automated system as defined by your project requirements.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements (based on Promation, Inc.'s prior experience).
- Provide programming for process control systems, input/output panels and workstations.
- Provide PLC and PC programming and custom screens for operator interface with the process.
- Provide management information such as: inventory data, process history, etc.
- Field service for process start-up including calibration of measuring devices for flow, temperature, pressure, etc.
- On-site operator training.
- On-going support for process modernization.
Visual, statistical, and mechanical control
A Promation Process Control System not only operates the mechanical controls of all production steps but displays graphic on-screen visuals of each function. Statistical measurements are consistently recorded and are available for hard copy.
Quality hardware and software
In addition to our processing experience, every segment of the automation control
system is of the highest quality to assure dependable performance.
All PLC's and development software are by internationally known sources. As part of our quality assurance program, all our control cabinets are rung out wire by wire before shipment to insure an error free system.
Process simulation
- Process conditions are simulated in Promation offices and used to debug the MMI
and PLC progamming.
- Practice dry-running provides the client's engineering staff with the opportunity to troubleshoot the operation (off line).
- Dry-running the program also allows for "what-if" testing.
- No materials or production time are wasted in computer simulation or de-bugging.
- Once everything has been simulated and debugged simulation can be setup in the client's office to train the operators before the system goes online.
Process control experience
Our completed projects have provided us with process experience and background that can rival and surpass many other firms. This experience was acquired while completing programming projects for batch reactor systems, exothermic and endothermic reactions, storage, transfer and distribution of solvents and hazardous chemicals, mechanical and pneumatic conveying of solids, thermal oxidation of hazardous wastes, blending, metering and weighing, skid-mounted process manufacturing modules, instrumentation, distributed control and PLC based control systems.
